Q: How do I submit my head shot and resume to Blood and Guts Productions?
A: We are always screening for actors and actresses for various parts and you can send us head shots and resumes at any time to castingbloodgutsproductions@gmail.com   For a list of current openings, please visit our casting and crew page for more info.

Q: Will I become a "movie star" if I get a part in this film?
A: That depends on the success of the film, but being in one of our films will not necessarily make you a movie star.

Q: Will these films be shown in theaters?
A: These films may be screened at film festivals or horror conventions when it is first released, however, these films are primarily targeted at the Direct to DVD and Movie Rental markets.

Q: How much money will I make?
A: That depends on which character you play, and what financial agreement is reached. Generally, we offer a deferred payment contract for lead or principal parts that pays dividends based on the film's success. Supporting and minor parts and extras are not paid at this time, but we credit all parts, even extras.
We cannot guarantee the success of a film, but if it succeeds major roles will receive profit sharing.

Q: How much time is involved?
A:  For some parts, like say a vampire victim, the filming could be completed in a matter of several hours. Most of the filming takes place during the weekends. The major roles will require at least several days of filming which might be spread over a period of couple of days to several weeks depending on the part, so if you are interested in a major part, you must be willing to make yourself available until filming is complete.

Q: Is experience required?
A: Generally, lead parts will require some experience. Supporting parts may go to people with little or no professional experience based on your audition. No experience is required for extras. If you can act, and you can take direction, you may be selected for a part in one or more of our films.

Q: How old do I have to be?
A: You must be at least 18 years of age or parental signature. You must also provide a valid ID.

Q: Is there nudity in these films?
A:  Some times yes, some of the roles require partial nudity. The reality in this industry is that low budget films are very difficult to sell if they don't include attractive women and some scenes that include partial nudity.

On our casting page, we make it very clear when the scenes for a character require shots that include any type of nudity or sexual situations. We understand, and respect, that some people are not comfortable being filmed in scenes that contain this type of subject matter.

These are not X rated films, and no sexual acts will be performed by any of the characters in this film. These films do contain violence, nudity and sexual situations that would be consistent with an "R" rating.

In a nutshell, if you do not want to be in scenes that include nudity or sexual situations, please DO NOT apply for those parts.

Q: What should I bring with me?
A: You, your screenplay, and any clothing or accessories that you agreed to bring if your costume is not being provided by us. Cell phones must be turned off when we're filming.

Q: What shouldn't I bring with me?
A: Do NOT bring a date or a guest(s) to the set. Bringing guests is, at best, a distraction and in some cases can be very disruptive to the work we are doing. Guests are welcome at screenings and cast parties.
A: Do NOT bring any illegal substances, weapons, or anything else that would be in violation of the law.
A: Do NOT bring a camcorder. What we are filming is proprietary.

Q: If selected for a part in a film, what will be expected from me?
A: You will be required to sign a "Talent Release" allowing us to use your image in our film and for promotion of the film. This is NOT negotiable and the release, which has been drafted by an entertainment attorney to meet state laws as well as distributor’s requirements, cannot be altered.
A: You will be expected to do whatever we agreed upon for your part. That includes showing up on schedule, and on time, and being ready to go to work when you arrive. You are expected to act in a professional manner.

People who become hostile, overly demanding or rude to anyone involved in any production, i.e. people who mutate into “prima donnas,” will be cut from the film and replaced. We will not tolerate bad behavior and we will not re-negotiate the terms of your agreement half way through production.

We are a small production company. We have a lot of fun when we work, and we work as a team. If you are up for that, we look forward to hearing from you!
