Synopsis:
We begin “Prey to God” with a familiar situation: Jeff (The quieter, “Nice guy” type) and Randy (Total Frat boy type) are looking to have a fun filled weekend with their girlfriends, Monica (your typical girl next door) and Kendra (her sassy sex bomb friend.) With the promise of an alcohol, sex, and marijuana filled weekend, the four co-eds are excited to get going. At the last moment, however, Monica drops a bombshell on Jeff: She’s had her 14 year old brother Steven dumped on her, much to the disappointment of Jeff and Randy. Loading him into their jeep, they set out into the wilderness, away from civilization and into the woods.

As night falls, they near their destination and stop for food. They encounter the town drunk, Earl, leaving the seedy diner they are entering. He utters a string of curses at them and stumbles on his way. The five youths snicker at his hillbilly ways and make their way into the restaurant. They are seated and are assaulted on all 5 senses by just how run down the restaurant is, and by how backwards the wait staff appear to be, including their horrible teeth. The waitress takes their orders, and the youths settle in for what will turn out to be their last meal together.

Elsewhere, Earl is stumbling on his way home as it begins to rain. He curses the clouds, but continues on his way. Suddenly, as if powered by superhuman speed, Earl is assaulted by Gideon. Earl begs for his life as Gideon displays him for Elijah, his younger brother. Earl’s pleas for mercy fall on mercilessly deaf ears as he is killed with his own knife.

Back at the restaurant, the 5 youths are regretting their decision to eat there. To take their minds off the horridness of the food, Randy tells the story of a clan that lives out in these parts. From all the way back to the civil war, they’ve hijacked any passerby unlucky enough to stumble through these woods. They would bury the bodies in a cemetery on their land, and hid all of their valuables in one specific grave. The rest of the group scoffs, and Randy joins them, but reveals that this was part of the reason he chose this locale for their camping trip. They finish their meal and with a few sarcastic comments, make ready to leave. As they pay their tab, they are sneered at as they walk out the door. The waitress picks up their money, and as she files it away, we see behind the counter a corpse, all but stripped of the meat from his bones.

Outside, unaware of the fact that they’ve been marked, they encounter Piccutio, a patchouli smelling gypsy who latches onto them and follows them to the campsite. They grudgingly take him in because he provides some of his own weed, but they keep him at arms length. As the night wears on, Steven complains, but Kendra and Monica get him to finally get to sleep, and that’s when the fun tarts. They do a round of passing joints, knocking back a few beers, and then the girls start feeling feisty. Piccutio misinterprets Kendra’s teasing and gets kicked out of the campsite for his troubles. As he wanders off, Jeff and Monica and Randy and Kendra pair off to their own tents. Piccutio comes back, steals Randy’s weed, and makes off. He doesn’t get very far before Gideon makes a second appearance. Piccutio is dispatched as easily as Earl.

Back at the campsite, Steven stirs from his sleep. He pokes out of his tent and is face to face with Elijah. Before he can react, he is taken and dragged away before he can even scream.

After they have finished their carnal fun, Randy emerges from his tent to find that his stash has been nicked. He is furious and his anger draws the attention of his travel mates. At this point, Monica realizes Steven isn’t in his tent. As Randy and Monica franticly search the campsite, Jeff and Kendra try to keep people calm. Monica and Randy argue about priorities, and as Randy goes off in search off Piccutio, Monica sets off in search of Steven.

Steven is out of range of her cries, however. He awakens to find himself secured to a bed and being cleaned by a middle-aged woman. He realizes that his situation is dire quickly, but is unable to do anything about it.

As Monica and Jeff hurry through the forest, Kendra has calmed down Randy and they are now fornicating with exuberance. As they finish up, they hear noises outside their tent. As Randy goes to investigate, we hear a “Thud!” as Randy is knocked out and Kendra is first given a scare while still inside the tent, and then she too falls victim to an unseen assailant.

Coming to, Randy heads off after Jeff and Kendra to let them know they aren’t alone in the woods. He catches up to them just as they find a stately old manor in the middle of the woods. They go to investigate, splitting up; Monica enters the house, only to be found by Magdalene, who calmly but firmly insists she join them for dinner. Outside, Randy discovers that Jeff has been abducted as well. He searches, only to find Jeff attached to an infernal machine inside the barn. Meanwhile, at the dinner table, Monica and Magdalene are joined by Grandma Grace, Gideon, Elijah, and the patriarch of the family, Christopher. Monica is still insisting that they need to find her brother; unaware she is about to be served a most unholy dish, and that the lives of her and her friends are about to be forever and irrevocably destroyed.
